A couple of weeks ago, I was rewatching Rocky, and it hit me. Rocky Balboa is the ultimate growth mindset icon. I mean, what a classic. The training montages, the underdog story, that iconic run up the steps, it’s all legendary. But what really stuck with me this time wasn’t the big fight scenes or the adrenaline. It was something deeper.
I had just filmed a video on growth mindset, and the connection was too good to ignore. Rocky didn’t have elite trainers, big sponsors, or some secret advantage. What he had was grit, heart, and an unshakable drive to get back up, no matter how many times he got knocked down.
That’s the mindset every great leader needs. Because leadership? It’s not about smooth sailing and perfect wins. It’s about how you show up when things fall apart and how you help your team do the same.
